The aim of our village store is to provide the residents of Ewelme and visitors to the village with a sustainable community-owned shop selling local produce (including tea and cakes) and to create a focal point for the village.


We stock a range of local products and have been supported in this initiative by a Local Food grant from the Big Lottery Fund.

    • Twisting Spirit Gin - we stock this delicious gin, created by a new micro-distillery based in North Stoke, South Oxfordshire. There are three flavours to try- Kaffir lime and Lemongrass; Earl Grey; and Douglas Fir. They are all selling fast and available to taste in the Shepherd’s Hut
    • Wine Club – the store has a wine club run by Sue Evans, a committee member and is open to anyone interested to join.  The club meets twice a year to taste new wines.  If you are interested please contact Sue through the store.
    • Brightwell wine - Brightwell Vineyard produces award-winning, quality English wines which frequently win medals at National and International competitions. Tel: 01491832354

    • Laceys milk- Laceys try to make their milk as natural as possible, by not unhomogenising their milk (they don’t break up the fat, increasing the time you body takes to absorb the fat, making it healthier).     • Quince Jelly - made in Watlington.  This range of quince products is handmade in small batches using no added preservatives, and are sometimes combined with other fruits to create a delicious balance of flavours and taste.  These quince products are recommended with cheese, on toast and in daily cooking.
